A Creative New Year Craft for 2026 to 2027
The New Year is a perfect time to slow down, reflect and enjoy a calm creative activity with your learners. New Year 2026-7 is a fun and meaningful craft that helps children welcome the new year in a hands-on and engaging way. This resource follows the popular six seven trend and turns it into an easy classroom activity that children love.

The Crafts
This ready to print resource includes two low prep crafts that work well in ELA, ESL and home-school settings. You can use them with individuals, small groups or a whole class. They also fit nicely into the busy days at the end of the year or the first week back in January.
The first activity is a triorama craft. Children start by adding simple zentangle patterns to the design. They then colour the pieces, cut along the lines, fold and glue to create a small 3D scene. The finished triorama shows the numbers 2026-7 in a bold and cheerful style. The final result looks bright and eye catching on desks or displays.

The second activity is a colouring craft. This option gives children more time to relax and focus. Learners decorate the numbers 2026-7 using bright colours and easy zentangle patterns. This activity supports fine motor skills and creativity while giving children a gentle transition into the new year.
Both crafts are quick to set up and need only basic classroom supplies. They work well as an early finisher task, a calm morning activity or a fun Friday project. You can also use them to start a short class talk about the new year, goals or favourite memories.
